I went to Kwik Kar today to get a couple pulls just to see where I sit with the stock block. The guy there told me that I'm running lean? My car smells and sounds like it's running rich though. I even have a little back fire. I'm not really familliar with what normal a/f readings are though.

here are the sheets (i dunno what happened with the torque and rpm scale..the guy told me to just add a 1 infront of the torque? I don't think B20 gives me THAT much torque):

I'm pretty satisfied w/126hp espically since I just have intake/exhaust/hi-flo cat. It was a pretty humid day too.
does anyone know the formula for whp=>crank hp?

for some reason I noticed a big puff of smoke when the guy got to around ~6000 rpm..does that seem odd? I got it on video so I'll see if I can load it tomorrow.

You are running a bit lean as far as the a/f ratio goes. As for the torque number...it won't be that high I dont think. Take it somewhere with a working dyno...maybe the wideband o2 isn't working properly either.

I dunno, my friend's dyno sheet turned out. I think i'm gonna go back and ask them about it.

Do you think the fuel pump would have to do with it running lean? I've still got a stock d16 fuel pump?

It shouldn't lower fuel pressure to cause it. You are running a bit lean, but not horribly. It definitly wouldn't hurt to get a safc to make things a little more rich especially up at higher rpm's.

Yup- the dyno scales are all wrong. On a stock B20, you're going to have about the same amount of peak torque down to the ground as you have horsepower. The engine speed scale is all off, and your torque scale is WAY off. IF your a/f ratio graph is correct, you are running a bit lean... especially for Texas heat. You might try changing out your fuel filter- it's very often a choke for your fuel, especially after you've racked up some miles on the car. Your stock fuel pump is perfectly fine for feeding a stock B20.

well, when I first got the swap back, there was an idle problem. When I started the car after it had been recently driven, it would start up but begin to choke. RPMs would fall to like 100 or so and the car would shake really bad. In trying to fix the problem we already got Phil to replace the fuel filter. I think it helped a bit but it still does it once in a while now. I can't think of what else might make the car run lean.. Any possibilities the readings were off?

It's very very possible that the a/f readings were off, considering how crappy everything else was set up. I wouldn't trust any of Kwik's dyno chart at all.

As for your idle issues, I'm going to guess it's something in your spark pathway. Check plugs, distributor/rotor, wires... you could also be running too rich!
