My boy just got a 91 accord dirt cheap and has a problem. Every once in a while it will basicly bog out. You floor the car and it does nothing. It doesnt happen all the time nor does it happen at a certian speed, rpm, or gear. What gets me, if you let off the gas when it happens and then punch it, it goes fine. I dont know where to start to look. Any ideas would be great. 4cyl, auto. thanks

fuel delivery, TPS, messed up throttle cable, it's a 91 accord!
The only problem with Honda is because they're so reliable people rag them out. There is no such thing as a deal on a honda, if you find a "deal" there's generally a problem!

maybe something electrical. spend 30-50 bucks and get it professionally diagnosed. thats what i do, ive replaced to many of the wrong parts in the past, just to find out they werent the problem and the old one worked just fine.

I would start with a fuel filter and while you are doing that you should look at the throttle cable and make sure it isn't binding, also check for vaccuum leaks. How's your gas mileage?? Is the idle smooth or rough? Is it auto or manual? and which motor is in it, if there is more than one option, not sure on this year? Also check the catalytic converter.
