Hey guys, once again i need your assistance. Many people have told me that my timing belt was off a tooth b/c I had to fully advance my dizzy just to get it to run ( 1992 Civic LX w/ a 1995 D15b7 110,xxx miles). I got my Valvecover off and the upper belt cover off. I am confused on how to make sure that the crankshaft and camshaft are in time and how to set the #1 piston to TDC. The haynes manual that i bought to put in my 95 B7 in my car says the from the belt end of my motor the pistons are numbered 1,2,3,4 with 4 being closest to the distributor. Its says that on the distributor the teerminal for the plug wire for cylinder 1 which it told me was closest to the timing belt goes to what it called cylinder # 4. I am confused on that and how to get my camshaft and crankshaft in time together. Everything is ready to be worked on and i need my car for monday. Please help ASAP. Thanks,

Brock

no thats not how you set TDC, first off you need to see how you set your cam and crank to TDC, usually there is a mark that should point up or line up with some kind of reference point to mark TDC on your cam. With the crank there should be some kind of mark also on the crank pulley for the timing belt that should line up with a mark as well on the block, once you do that, put on your timing belt, tighten up the tensioner and your finished
