heres the deal. i changed my oil last night. drove to work this morning, no problems. i start my car to go home. it sounds like one of the cylinders is not firing. the idle was harsh, and to describe the sound it make while idling. "blub blub blub blub", over and over. popped the hood while idling and the engine was shaking i bit more violently than usual. i made sure all the plug wires were connected. same as above. then i tried disconnecting one of the plugs and the car sounded like it was missing even more. more gap between the "blub blub blub blub". lol. so i attempted to drive home on what i thought was 3 cylinders. then i seemed to lose more power all of a sudden. and the car sounded like it did when i disconnected one of the plug wires from the distr. cap. well, the car is in the parkinglot of the grocery store down the road. if i had to guess, my distributor is going out, but i dont know for sure. any help would be GREATLY appreciated. thanks alot.

Check ALL your wires, not just one. And check your plugs.

How many miles do you have on the distributor cap and rotor?
Check the contact points for wear and or corrosion, then check the plugs and wires. You may also check the amount of exhaust coming out of the tailpipe because you may have a plugged converter. By the way when you are checkin the plug wires look inside the boot and make sure the actual wire ends are where they are supposed to be. Other than that I'd say the pickup coil inside the distributor is taking a dump. That will require a new dist.
