thanks for the replies. I know they are bad because there is a pretty loud tapping coming from the head when the engine is cold, once it's warmed up the noise stops. It sounds like a lifter isnt pumping up.

have you tried adjusting your valves? not just the lm';s will cause that sound...its generally the valves being out of adjustment. Wait till you try to price LMA's i think they are something like $27 each for a b series lma. however i do know a little trick with prelude lma's which are like 7 bucks a peice. oh and by the way...they are spring loaded...not hydraulic. so there is no "pumping up"

Maybe the tapping noise is because the oil hasn't circulated all the way around a cold engine yet? Either that or try a valve adjustment, and see if it helps.

I have adjusted the valves three seperate times and the noise is still there. I will try again though to be sure.

what cams are you running? i know that large cams will cause the springs to sag a little, causing noise. that could be a prob also.
