i just noticed the other day that when the car is off and i push in the clutch it makes a squeaking noise..kind of like the sound of metal rubbing against metal like on swing sets. i also noticed a faint but still noticable noise when my car is idling. another squeaky kind of sound. could i need new belts?

Could be your throwout bearing needs to be replaced or greased up, or it could be the pedal linkage needs to be lubed.

the sueak is normal my car has been doing it for the last few years. It's the pedal linkage 100%. The other noise at idle is most likley your belts

My squeak was my throwout bearing. It's definitely a possibility.

I've had the same squeak for about a year or two now and haven't done anything about it.

so i'm gathering that it's not too serious, cause i would seriously throw a hissy fit if i had to replace the clutch. oh one other thing...is it feasable to flush the cooling system myself or should i have that done? it's a little overdue and i'd rather do it myself if it'll save me some money. oh yeah, and how do i do it? lol
