I have no idea what type of maintenance it's talking about. Does anyone have any idea what this means?

It comes on at set mileage intervals, letting the driver know when it's time to take the car in for service. The service required depends on the mileage.

I just hit 81,000 yesterday. So is that the reason the light came on?

Should I take the car in for service or just leave it?

Thanks.

If you actually need the service, (check your manual), then yes take it in, or do the service yourself. If you let it get into the red, then your car explodes. No, not really, but itd be kinda cool. If you want to reset the thing, theres a little switch looking thing to the left of it, in the clear plastic. Take a key, or something pointy and press it, it will reset it to green.
