So, while idling my car overheats, but when i hit the gas, the temp goes down. What in the world is going on with my car. All of this started happening when i un hooked the coolant lines that run to the turbo. I have checked the coolant lines to the turbo and they are connected correctly. sound familiar to anyone?

Not enough coolant in the system? Radiator fan bad?

Bleed your coolant system.

Ill go ahead and bleed the system after work today. How can I tell if my radiator fan isn?t working? I checked the fuses for the cooling fan and the relay; they turned out to be ok. I?m thinking that I will also replace my thermostat, only because it?s a cheep part and with my helms I can do anything.
Also, when my car is hot the coolant does cycle, but when it does, the coolant level drops to almost none. I was thinking that the reason for this was the extra coolant lines for the turbo.

Drive your car around till it's fully heated than park it and let it idle for a little while. When the car starts to overheat your fan should come on, so just sit and wait for it. If it overheats and no fan, than unplug it and run wires directly to the fan plug. If it comes on, you have narrowed it down to 1 of 2 relays, fan switch, or thermostat.

Sounds like air bubbles to me.. So change your fluid.

Ok so I found that the fan does work. At least it was turning and blowing out nice cool air. Unfortunately that is the first time I have scene it work, but ill keep my eye on it.
Now when you guys say "bleed" you mean: let the car warm up, shut down, twist off radiator cap, start the car and watch the bubbles?

Im thinking no. Taking off the radiator cap after you just shut off the car doesn't sound like to good of an idea to me.

On the bottom of the radiator there will be a plug. Just loosen the plug and get ready for the fluid to dump out. After all the fluid has drained, reattach the plug and fill her up. Once your filled you should drive it around enough to reach full temp and than shut her off, and let her cool down. Make sure not to take the cap off while it is hot! It can spray hot steam or liquid at you, if you do. Check your fluid again once it's cooled down and top off if necesary. Your essentually giving your radiator an "oil change".

If your fan is working properly than it could either be your fluid, thermostat, or your waterpump. I would test in that order.

Bleeding the coolant system...leave the radiator cap off, start the car, watch bubbles rise out of the filler neck. I know the GSR had a bleed screw on the water neck, the LS doesn't so you have to do it with the radiator cap off. Squeeze the hoses a little bit, etc.
