I am putting a d16y8 head on a non vtec car. If i do this without an ecu that will run the vtec will I mess on thing up on my current ecu? And are there any problems I might not know of installing this head without a correct ecu and etc...?

the car will not have vtec if you put a vtec head on but no vtec ecu

Yes but I guess what I am asking is will the motor be ok putting it on until I find and ecu to run the vtec?

ok, probably.. but it will not run correctly and you will throw check engine lights

do your self a favor... dont touch your car till you have the money to do what you need to do correctly
