Ok so I have allot of this Thermal exhaust wrap. I was just wondering if anybody has any experiences using it? I know that it keeps the engine bay cooler, but it also keeps the heat from escaping the pipes. As we all know, hotter air molecules flow faster. Knowing that, will this work the same for my charge pipes? I would like to keep the air in the pipes as cold as possible. Basically what I am trying to ask is: Do you think that buy wrapping the charge pipes, the air inside will stay cold?

we use it on the race bikes. to keep the exhaust from disapating so much heat. so i would think it would work the same for yur charge pipes by keeping them cooler from surounding heat. im not sure tho ive never seen any one use it for anything else but exhaust

Here is the reality of exhaust wrap, despite the fact it voids any warrant on any part you would install it on, it's useless to anything but a race car.
Here is why, it's one of those things that means gaining maybe a 10th of a horsepower.....if you are lucky...now for a full blown race car a 10th of a horsepower could mean the difference between 1st and 5th....everyday car a tenth of a horsepower is useless and you could gain this with new sparkplugs or anything less detrimental to your parts. It traps heat, therefore making the metal retain it all, for headers it cuts their life in half...for an intake pipe, if say made of aluminum, would melt it. So not worth your time to install or your money to buy for a street car. Highly unrecommended for anything but a race car. HTP

My manifold and intake pipe bump slightly, so Im just using it to separate the two.

If you wanna keep the intake pipes cooler have them ceramic coated.

another good way to pull in more cold air would be an ice box. comptech and nuespeed make em. they keep even more hot air away from the filter an i believe u can either get em or modify em to fit most applications. dont use the heat wrap tho, thats really not wat its for. more to keep heat in than out i beleive. that way u wanna use it would be like puttin a jacket on in the summer. would just make stuff hotter.
