Are the JDM type R clutches the same as the USDM GSR's? What I mean is, is the type R stronger or no? Also are the Civis Si cluthces the same as a gsr?

To the best of my knowledge the clutches of a JDM type R clutch is "claimed" to be a bit stiffer, closer to a racing clutch. So yes the Type R clutch is claimed to be stronger, however if you are asking because you are interested in purchasing a new clutch your money would be better spent buying a new ACT clutch and pressure plate, I recomend heavy duty pressure plate and the street disk if you are looking for much stronger over stock while still remaining daily drivable for street and traffic use. This setup will be much stronger (as well as stiffer clutch pedal) than stock, roughly 40% over stock.

Second question, all B series clutches are the same as far as SI, LS, GS, and GSR, however the GSR and SI flywheel are lighter than the LS and GS model flywheels. If memory serves me correctly LS, GS are 14 or 16lbs, verse the GSR 12 or 11LB flywheel.

Thank you for the reply, the only reason I asked was because my friend just took his 5k old clutch out of his type r and I have it but I was only wondering about benefits.

And I don't think the the stock gsr flywheel is that light but i could be wrong.
