dubcac is trying to point out that if the tensioner belt broke during operation than there could be internal damage that replacing the timing belt will not fix. If you answer his question we might be able to help you better.

Basically, they told me that the valve train was fine and the overall engine was fine...no bent valves at all, they did take off the valve cover because i saw them do that. the water pump is gone, the timing belt snapped, timing cover is ruined, and now they told me yesterday the tensioner bolt broke.

i stopped by yesterday to talk to the guy in person and i know now they couldnt have caused it. i took a look at my car while it was on the hydraulic lift and he showed me the tensioner bolt. looked like it has been wearing away for years. Car still should be ready wednesday still waiting on Honda for a part.

could that be just from age since it is a 93. i have had the timing belt changed before about 2 years ago, but never have been told that the tensioner bolt was weak.

i hope this clears some things up dubcac and lacuna.

Unless they pulled the head off, I don't think they'd be able to tell if the valves were bent or not.

If I were you I would be worried about being jerked around by this shop.

So I'm assuming the shop did the timing belt, water pump, and tensioner for you?

these guys were the lesser of many evils. one shop didnt even know if my engine was a interference engine or not, so i definitly wasn't taking it there. and no way was i taking it to honda so they can rape me out my money.

yea they did...

i have my car now...

engine sounds like how i had it before. i haven't driven it hard though, i just drove it back to my apartment (10-15min drive). honestly, my car doesnt feel different. but i got a warranty on all that shit so, only time will tell.

i think when i get back to new orleans, i'll have my trusted mechanic check it out for me just to be safe. and in the four years i've owned this car, this is the worst thing that has ever happened..

but if i had the know how, trust me, i would have done it myself but the fact of the matter is i'm out of state and i don't have my peeps around so i had to settle on someone or just have a dead car sitting outside my place.

anyways thanks for all the info fellas.
