Thumbs up

My boyfriend has a 94 trans am. He's having some problems with it and I want to try to help him out. When his car is cold, it runs a little rich. Once it warm up, it hesitates around 2000 rpms. He checked the spark plug wires, and that's not it. It pulled a mass air code a couple weeks ago. It was dirty, so he cleaned it out. Does anyone have any knowlege on any of this? Do you think it's the mass air, or possibly his opti spark? His opti spark only has 12000 miles on it, they usually last 20000-30000 miles. He also has a new ignition module, and we don't think that is it, either. What could it be?? Any help would be great. Thanks.

news for you, you cant clean a MAS if you do you ruin it. There is a special element, I think it has gold or some kind of rare earth metal on it, and once it has an chemicals hit it, its done. So go replace the MAS.

Yep if it's not going past 2000-3000 RPM's it's the MAS. When mine went bad in my 300zxt my car would run rine but once it hit 3000 rpms it would stutter then stall.

MAS or MAF depends on how you like to say it.

M- Mass A - Airflow S - Sensor
