I'm buying a tranny for my car. I was just curious, does anyone know if there is a number or anything I can look at to make sure it's the right one?? A friend bought it for his car, but it doesn't fit. He bought it for a 90 civic. He said the tranny mount goes on the side, and his didn't work. I looked at my tranny, and it has a side tranny mount, and a top one, that looks like a motor mount. Anyone know if it will work or not, or if there's a way to find out? Thanks

I'm pretty sure your going to need a hydro tranny and a trans from a 90 civic will be cable

What about the tranny mounts? Are they different or anything? He said his was on the top, and the tranny he got needs one on the side. I have both

All trannys have a mount on top and in front.

if he bought it for a 89-91 and its the correct trans it's a cable trans, you have a hydraulic trans. If you really want it to work you'll have to convert to cable and thats stupid
