I have a 94 del sol. I'm going to buy a GSR to put it it . So here's my question...if I put that in, can I keep my heat??? I wasn't sure with my car, but I know a few people that have put B16's in their civics and they couldn't keep the heat, so I was just curious about mine. Thanks.

Your packing heat?
I have never heard of anyone having to give up heat as a result of a engine swap. With most swaps you can retain everything, when adding a turbo you may have to give up a/c. I have never put a GSR engine into a Del Sol, but i have never heard of anyone having to give up the option of having heat.

I was only asking cuz a few people I hang out with have hatchbacks and when they put a B16 in, they said they didn't have heat anymore, but I could be thinking about an H22. My bad. But do you know of anything special I have to get other that axles and mounts?? I already have a wiring harness and computer.

tranny, driveshaft, shift linkage, ecu, motor mounts. I think its just a basic D --> B swap. Do you have a z6?

I have a DX...crap. I already have the tranny...do I still need a shift linkage?? This won't be happening until around March, anyway. I have time. I need to save up the money. I can't wait, tho. Both of my hondas have been DX's. I want a fast car. I'm too excited!

I already have a GSR tranny. I bought it for my car cuz my tranny is broke, and then I found out it was the wrong one and that it came from a GSR. Then, the guy I got the tranny from offered to sell me the GSR motor that it came from.

Thats a good question. So you have a D series engine with a B series tranny? I would think that you already have the correct linkage, but i guess we will find out.
The GSR engine is a good choice.

If she was running the B transmission with the D engine, then yes she would have the correct shift linkage if it all worked- but you can't use a D series engine and a B series transmission together. It doesn't bolt up. Sure, you can make adapter plates/housings and all that crap- but almost nobody out there has anything like this.

On the heat/AC question- you can keep both along with power steering no matter what engine you put in there. It's all about having the right mounts and brackets. There are tons of B, H and even K series swaps into 5th gen Civics out there now with functional AC, heat, and power steering.

I don't actually have the B series tranny hooked up...it's in my trunk. I was gonna use it until I found out it wouldn't fit. I assumed it was the right one...kinda dumb. But anyway, I have the tranny, just not hooked up.
