Sup guys.... my fiance has a 2001 Civic EX coupe, and I wanted to buy her a remote starter for Christmas. I've bypassed the clutch on a mitsubishi before, and I was just wondering if there was anything I needed to do, in order to bypass the clutch on the Civic. Do I need to disable it, or can it be started without the clutch? Thanks for the help.

No alarm establishment will install remote start into a 5spd. As far as bypassing the clutch it wont work. If you do this yourself make sure that you tell your wife or whatever to take that shit out of gear!!!
I highly recommend not doing it, Only because females get careless at times, and forget shit beceause their makeup might not be on right, which would make for a big mess if it happened. |

It is possible and I am 100% positive of this. I just can't tell you how. I had a friend who did it to his hatch, sorry though, I don't associate with him anymore though. I do know it wasn't an easy instal.

It'll work... I've done it on a few cars (clutch switch, not alarm). There should be a push-button switch that's hit by the clutch pedal arm. Find that and connect the two wires so you bypass the switch. That way your ECU thinks the clutch is always down.

Well there is only two wires from that switch. One will go to connector 30 on a SPDT relay, the other wire will go to 87. 85 will go to 12volts positive and 86 will go to a negative transistor output for ignition 3 to the remote starter. If the remote starter is not intended for a manual transmission, I do recommend installing a NSS from Periferal electronics which will prevent a possibility of starting the car in gear.
