I was wondering if this piston/rod combo will work with my z6 crank and everything. If they will what will the end result be as far as compression ratio? Will it be streetable?
If not which combo would be the best for a streetable OEM higher comp. setup?

Yes it will work.
Your compression will be about 12.0:1, depending on what head gasket you use and how much you resurface the head. Yes it will be streetable if you run 91-93 octane gas and do some tuning. |

Is there a setup that would be more reliable but still raising comp? I know the d16A6 pistons will work but again I'm not sure what the CR will be. What setup would you suggest for a streetable all motor combo? I dont care about running 91 octane because I already do, but tuning is going to be difficult because there is only one dyno around and they are usually packed. Give me your opinions please, I dont want to swap, or turbo or any of that.

Try this compression calculator:
http://www.knology.net/~jediklc/D.htm If you raise your compression that much (going from 9 to 12), you really should always go back and tune. You'll be fine running premium gas on 12:1 compression, as long as you tune. |

So do you think with the proper tuning this will be a good setup? I'm just looking to explore all my options right now.

Yes, if you're staying naturally aspirated. A 4% increase in power for every whole compression point is a good guess rule to follow, so if you're increasing compression by 2.5 to 3 points, you can estimate what your power will be after installing and tuning on the new pistons.

Thanks for the help. I think this is the way I will be going. Are there any issues with this combo as far as valve clearance and such?
Sorry for so many questions but this is relatively new to me, so I appreciate your patience.

I don't know about valve clearance... people say that they do clear (never done it myself), but you should always clay/gage to check for clearance when you install taller pistons.
