In an earlier post, I mentioned how I was in need of a new exhaust and how I said I didn't want any aftermarket exhaust. After thinking about it for awhile, and crunching numbers, I think I am going to go with an aftermarket exhaust system. I plan on turboing the car in the future, but I need an exhaust now.

What problems may arise if I went with Thermal's 3" Turbo Exhaust before having the turbo? Will I experience a great decrease in power or bad gas mileage?

TIA

You'll probably lose a lot of low/midrange power because there won't be a whole lot of backpressure. On the bottle it will probably be ok, but everyday driving you'll probably feel it.

I just don't see the point in having a stock system put back on for $400 or a smaller aftermarket system for the same amount when a turbo is in the plans. i just can't take the noise of not having an exhaust anymore.

the only two differences in the Classic/Stealth Thermal systems and their Turbo system is the larger, 3" piping and no resonator right?

If I go through with this, Thermal said their systems will not connect to a stock cat. Can anyone recommend a nice high flow cat?

Thanks Brett for the quick response, and to anyone else offering information
