Here the deal. I want alittle lighting in the front but nothing crazy. I hate how after market foglights look and don't want to put them on. Take a look at the pic below. This is how my front end looks. If you look at the bottom of each side you will see a small wire mesh section. This is were i want to do my project.
![]() I want thinking a fitting 10 white 8000mcd leds on each side. The problem is i can't find a circuit board in the demention i need. Second problem is even if i can find a board i don't think i'm going to be able to fit all the resistors on there. Question 1 Anyone know were i can purchase c.boards?? with basic bus/traces already in them?? I plan on wire the LEDS up with a 12v suply goign thru some 220ohm .5watt 5%tolerance resistors? On any other project i've done i've only wired 2 leds per resistor. Question 2 How many leds can i SAFLEY wire up per resister?? Should i step uyp to a bigger resister to wire more? I don't want to blow any leds. If you have worked with them before you know that they are fragile and not cheap. Computec, I know you have info on this!!! |

As far as the circuit boards, go to Radio Shack. they have all different sizes there. For your second question I'd need all the info on the led's and resistors, cuz I've never messed with them.

You do know that you're not going to get any real usable light out of those LEDs right?

The LEDS that i have (and already tested) light up the ground about 4-5 feet in front of the car. They are specail LEDS that are used in flashlights and such. The do give a ok projection when aimed correctly. I yes i know it isn't going to produce any major lighting. |

as far as the circut board goes you really dont need one for that apllication but if you want one get a cricut board and just use two tracks.
as far as running resistors with LEDS, i wouldn't use more than two pre resistor, they cost NEXT TO NOTHING so id be using one per resistor...like you said"If you have worked with them before you know that they are fragile and not cheap." ive used them before to replace the globs in the original instrument cluster... (good project too... looks great)
