Hello people of civicland,
There is something that I have always wanted to know. Which way does the air flow in this line? For some reason I want to think that the intake is sucking the air out of the engine, but then I think that there is oil in the engine and that just doesn?t make sense. Please inform me ![]() Picture reference (thanks mike)

The air flows from the valve cover to the intake pipe. The air is pushed out of the nipple. If you pull the line off of the valve cover you can feel the air shouting out. It's recycles gases that are in the head.

Interesting..
So it wouldn?t hurt anything if i ran a line from the turbo intake to the valve cover nipple?

I wouldnt put pressure into the valve cover. You could just run a little breather filter off the nipple or run to a catch can.

I would be running the line to the intake filter pipe on the turbo. would that add pressure?

If your going to run the line make sure you have it on the intake pipe on the turbo and not the charge pipe. Other wise just run a breather filter.

Damn, im a little bitter. I just typed a whole good post then my browser took a dump.
Cliffs of it cuz im too lazy to type it all again: I would not like all that shit from the vave cover running through my turbo system and back into the motor. Personally i am going to be running a catch can setup with the valve cover nipple, and a nipple off the back of the block. Note: Oil (liquid and vapor) causes lean condition which = detonation. |

you would be better off loosing pressure in your charge pipes then getting dirt in your valve cover.
If you route the valve cover nipple to the intake side of the charge pipes, after the filter, before the turbo, neither will happen. |
