Common Question: how do you do the auto to manual conversion? here it is...
necessary components: 92-00 ex/si tranny clutch starter manual pedal assembly clutch master cylinder clutch slave cylinder clutch hydraulic lines manual transmission mount 96+ trannys require different mounts (hasport carrys the mounts) shift linkage shifter shift boot/ knob P2k ECU from a 99-00 Civic ex with manual IACV and plug from civic w/ manual throttle body from a civic w/ manual guage cluster is optional though............ On an EG/ DC chassis you would have to relocate the bracket that holds the tranny mount, or get a hasport conversion mount. The good thing for EK owners is that honda got a little smarter in 96 and made the brackets identical for both automatics and manuals. It is the mount itself thats different. All you need to do is get the manual mount and you would be fine. The worst part for EK owners would the the idle air control valve. On a the D16y8 the intake manifold on an automatic is different than that of a manual. The manual IACV is a plunger type, where thevalve on the automatics manifold is a rotary style. If you use the ECU from a manual you will get an IACV error code if you dont swap the manifold/ IACV To do that you have to convert the IACV plug from three wires to two by cutting the stock plug from the wire harness, splicing the yellow/ black wire on the harness to the green/black wire on the plug, and splicing the black /blue wire to the black wire on the plug. the orange wire is unnecessary. All the rest should be a direct swap.. Hope this helps in your search of converting imp:" class="inlineimg" /> |
