Right now im trying to get the crankshaft pully off so i can change the timing belt/water pump. I've got a chain wrench and a breaker bar.
No mater which way i try to hold the pulley and turn the bolt the little bastard wont come loose. Also im not sure which way to turn the bolt. i know the motor spins counter clockwise, but which way does the bolt spin? I cant jam anything in there cause the motor is out of the car. Anyone have any good ideas????

i feed nylon rope into the cylinder closest to the belt as it reaches TDC.

Get a partner. Have them get in the car, stomp on the brake pedal and put the car in 5th gear. Use a long extension, breaker bar, and slide a metal pipe over the end of the breaker bar for leverage. I use a floor jack handle. Works like a charm.

When mine was out of the car, I locked the flywheel in place with a screwdriver. Then you can use a nice impact gun, or have someone hold the motor in place while you rip on the crank pulley bolt with a breaker bar.

ok so what if the tdc mark on the pully moves, i think
there is also one on the gear behind it. would i just line this one up after the bolt is loose and the pully is off?

Line up the white mark (TDC) on the crank pulley with the timing mark, then line up the cam to TDC and install the belt.
