I left for a run today at work and suddenly i noticed one of my dash lights was out. I'm thinking great, now I get to tear apart the dash this weekend too.

I make the run and get back in my car slamming the door a little too hard by accident and the light comes back on.

Now I'm thinking great, I have loose connections back there.

Now when I tore apart the dash in my Escort you had to disconnect the speedo cable to get to the dash bulbs, which has me worried. Do you have to go that far in a Civic? Or can I pop the covers off and get right to them?

if it's an ek i believe you can just
unplug it from behind the gauge panel
after you remove the screws.
its electronic, same with the tach and gas gauge

PM Toyz-B-US, He's THE MAN at wiring and all this stuff. I'm sure he would be happy to tell you if you ask nicely.

Take ... what apart though? You see whenever I seem to take things apart, I always have extra parts or something doens't want to fit right anymore.

nah there is just two little screws in the top of the gauge bezel, take those out, then take out the 4 10mm bolts that hold the cluster in and wham, the cluster comes out, then you have to unplug the connections and what not, its really simple.

Alright sweet. That sounds easy enough.

Just gonna replace all the bulbs while I'm back there.
