lol... i've actually seen breaks about as bad. a buddy of mine has been driving my little old 81 sub gl wagon, and we did a break job on it last month. (now, understand i bought this thing for 250$ so he'd have something to drive after he wrecked my maverick and his camaro...)
had to, cuz the right pad wore down so much that it fell out, and he had the caliper grabbin the rotor with no pad!! driver side wasn't as bad, but man o man... and that happened while he was goin to work. stepped on the breaks and it suddenly yanks hard and throws him into the curb. he crimped it off with some washers and a bolt/nut. kept the break fluid from throwin all over the street. drove on it for a week like that until i could get the breaks in. crazy

Like I said... I couldn't do it myself, I don't have the time, tools, knowhow or flat surface to have done it in March and it's 30 degree days by myself.
My front brakes worked fine. That's where all the stopping power is, hell just look at the front vs rear pad size. The rears are just for extra braking power and Ebrake. The ebrake held, the front brakes work VERY well despite the cheapy pads. I doubt they'll ever get that bad again, but the only problem I had with them was the sound and brake/rotor dust that covers my rims now. |
