Hey i've noticed my car doesnt' blow cool air with the AC on and i thought i was outta R12, but i looked under the hood the AC Clutch isn't grabbing the AC compressor. I can spin the compressor & clutch freely, so i know it's not stuck. Just doesnt' seem to be engaging?? And my Haynes manual doesn't say crap about it, i also looked for fuses to check but can't find any. Thanks for any help,
JD

If not a recharge you might have a bad pulley for the A/C belt..

lol no you dont need a recharge, plus that will be expensive cause they dont produce as much r12 since they came out with R134a. Your clutch is probably dead. Either that or one of the pressure switches is bad. Id replace the clutch first then go from there.

If you dont know what your doing then take it to a shop.

Well i'll double check signals on my sensors, cause the clutch was never slipping or having problems before, just quit engaging on me. I'll see what the mechanic says.

more than likely a sensor, like a pressure sensor, you might have a leak in a line somewhere, that would make the clutch not engage.

Dude if your freon is low it will not engage the clutch for the low pressure switch keeps it locked out! I or any ac mechanic will tell you. Check First by puttind a can on it with ac on & put pressure on it & see if it bumps on. If so you have a leak somewhere!!!!
