If your burning that much antifreeze you would have a white smoke from your exhaust. If it's not in your oil and your not smoking, than you could be leaking it.

it does blow smoke out the tailpipe. when i first start it up it idles real low for about 10 seconds then kicks back up and runs fine.

Do a compression test. If you blow white smoke out the exhaust, this means you are burning coolant...which most likely means a blown headgasket. Otherwise, check everywhere for leaks.

sounds like a bad hg...compression test wont show you a blown heag gasket...id do a leak down test, with the rad. cap off and see if your pushing water.

that exact same thing happened to me , running out of antifreeze ultra quick. It turned out to be my water pump was bad. So u might want to check that out asap.

If your blowing white smoke I'll bet headgasket. Your probably well over 150k and due for one anyway.

maybe possibly an intake manifold gasket?? I would get a gasket kit off ebay, its maybe possibly a 100 bucks
