So a couple of weeks ago while i was driving. My battery light comes on so i go home to check things out. Figured out what was wrong (alternator belt, or drive belt, whatever broke). I replace the belt, get a new air filter, and some carberator cleaner. Now when i drive, usually right after i shift gears the cel will come on and the car will turn off . After pulling over and trying to start it up a couple times it will crank and the cel will be off, and i continue driving like normal. This happens like within the first 5 minutes of driving then like every few minutes after the first time i restart it. If anyone knows what could be causing this please let me know what its doing and how to fix it.
thanks in advance

sounds kinda like the belt isnt tight enough because it is happening when the car is dropping rpm,s i thing the belt is slipping and the alternator isnt working properly and the car is usig the battery to get its power.i would think that is why the battery is going dead also. do u hear the belt slipping?

like eric said whats the code?

also what did u use the carb cleaner for that it would effect the belt or the alertator or the battery?

yeah the belt squeels sometimes, like when i first start it up and sometimes when i start off. it might not be tight enough, to you need a special tool or something to tighten it all the way cuz i tightened it as far as i could.

i cant under stand the code for shit. the light blinked 2 times with a longer pause in between then 3 times with a short pause. then it blinked 15 times with a short pause. then it started over. i dont know wtf that means.

i used the carb cleaner for my intake and shit cuz there was a lot of shit in there from my nasty filter
