I have what's called an "accurate auto alarm". It came with my car. Well, here's what's going on...

I lost my keys one night, and I went to look in my car to see if they were in there, which set off my alarm (which sets itself after 5 minutes...and I hate it.) Ok, so I pulled the fuse for the alarm to shut it up. Now, three months down the road, I decide to put the fuse back in. It worked fine...the first time I set it. I turn it off and my little blinky light that says that my alarm is armed stays a steady red, and I can't turn my alarm on again. It only works if I take the fuse out and put it back in, like I'm resetting it. Does anyone know what could be causing this and if there's a reset switch or something i need to mess with?? Any help would be wonderful.

Thanks in advance.

No clue. Rip it out and get a nice new Clifford system professionally installed.

You dont have a reset, you should have a relay switch/button.. usually u put your key in on the on position and hit the button 2-4 times to turn off.

I have viper, i dont know about yours. Check by your hood release for any switches.

that works on some alarms. You should find you manual, and consult it. Or do like Calesta said.

yea i have a shitty aftermarket alarm on my car that i bought it with. it blows hardcore. and i cant even get the factory remote to work to lock and unlock the doors. im thinking about getting a clifford or a viper soon.

alot of times there is a reset switch on the side below the steering wheel feel around for it or look for it with a flash light while u crawl under there or somthing...

Clifford has two series of alarms. The G5 (Concept and Intelligard) alarms which are not at all interchangeable with Viper. Then there is the Matrix series which is compatible and basically identical to other Directed alarms (Viper, Pyton, etc.)

Usually with most alarms when the light stays lit it is in a "valet mode" that mode is used primarily when the car is being serviced or kept in a garage and you don't want the alarm to set either by itself or by remote. I was an installer for DEI for 5 years and really stand behind their higher end products - Viper, python, and there used to be a sidewinder line that was the same as the viper. stay away from the hornet stuff, its crap.

possible solution for the red light. look under your dash and see if you can find the alarm unit, if not follow the wires from the light itself, and see if you can locate a push button or switch. if you find a button turn your key to ignition and push the button hold if for a second or so and you could possibly see the light turn off. If you find a switch turn your ignition on and flip the switch and leave it in the position that disables the valet mode. your problem seems more like a switch rather than a button because it keeps happening. you could have possibly hit the switch with your foot and everytime you turn on the ignition it resets it back to valet mode..

Bottom line - get a new alarm dude. DEI of some sort.
