I don't want to be the bearer of bad news, and hopefully this isn't what it is, but I had a 92 hatch (d15b7), and mine ...

I don't want to be the bearer of bad news, and hopefully this isn't what it is, but I had a 92 hatch (d15b7), and mine made kind of the same noises, and my motor blew. This may sound stupid, but check your coolant. That's what mine was. Also, is it when you're driving, or idling, or both?? Think it may be a motor mount?

Radiators usually just go poof with no noise, and motor mounts make a clunk noise when bad..

well, when driving and idle, after driving for like 3 minutes, that sound kicks in

My cousin told me to check radiator, it's full of coolant

Can you tell what side of your engine this noise is coming from?? Get someone to get in your car and rev a little and try to listen where the noise is coming from...like a few others said...it could be anything. It will take a while to really figure out what could be rattling...it could be as simple as your oil filter or something being loose. Since you said you did something to the intake...check in the manifold and see if maybe something got in there.

To be honest with you, if you havent found out by what we said it could be...you might just wanna turn it in to your mechanic.

Better to play it safe than sorry sometimes..

Perfect example of needing a mechanic, and not doing shit yourself.

look, at my pics. Had a Friend mechanic do my timing...

well, it's not the valve lash now, =\
Some say it might be related to the fuel filter or the fuel injector....

just a quick question... are you SURE its from the engine? And is it more of a clicking then a rattling? Reason i ask.. buddies car was making a horrible clicking sound.. swore up and down it was from the engine.. and figured the timing belt was fucked up. So he removed all that shit.. only to find out it was perfectly fine. Stumped.. he put it back together and continued drving it (ran perfectly fine).. til one day.. it just shudders and dies out. Turns out.. his alterntor seized up.. and choked out the engine. Just a little FYI.
