What kind of clutch and flywheel combinations are you guys using? I'm planning on an ACT AI4-XTSS clutch (with a 319 ft lbs capacity) and a Fidanza 7.5-8 lb flywheel.

I'm not sure if I'll even need that kind of capacity on the clutch because all I intend to put through it is 6 psi. 150ish ft lbs?

Also, for those of you who've purchased from ACT, the Realease Bearing, Pilot bearing, and tool come in the package correct?

As for the flywheel, for those of you who have a lightened Fidanza, could you tell much difference in accel/deceleration under normal driving conditions? For the most part this will be my daily driver, so would it be wise to invest in a lightened one or should I invest in a near stock weight one?

I'll be purchasing and installing these before the supercharger.

Thanks for any help.

Dont go to light with the flywheel if your planning on
boosting it. you could go with the fidanza for n/a and
change it to a bit heaiver one after you boost it.

on my 240sx im using clutchmasters lightened flywheel and clutchmasters stage5 clutch. i love em. car revs nice with the lightened flywheel. for a stage5 full reace clutch its not that tuff of a feel either. i def. recomend clutchmasters.

No, go with the 7.5lb whether or not you boost. Lighter is better- you don't need a heavier flywheel for boost.

I was under the impression if you go to light it'll
drop outta boost kinda cause it brings the revs down too quick
when your shifting.

sweet. Thanks Cal, have you ever driven with a 7.5? I was wondering (if you did) if you could throw some personal experience at me.

your knowledge = the shit

It's not going to drop any faster boosted on a 7.5lb compared to a naturally aspirated engine with a 7.5lb. Just shift faster. It's not hard. If the 7.5lb flywheel drops revs too fast for you to shift properly, you don't have any business racing around in a turbo Civic.

My knowledge = nothing

I've only driven around with a 7.5lb flywheel for oh.... about 3 years and 50k miles. That includes Houston/Dallas/Austin rush hour, 150mph on the highway, normal subdued city driving etc. The revs do drop faster, and they drop just fast enough (for me) to have smooth shifts rather than shifting into the next gear with the engine at too high of a speed (heavy flywheel) and lurching the car forward. Hell, I wish I had a lighter one. It's really easy (for me) to drive in traffic, and I never had a problem stalling the engine. Hell, even Katie has no problems driving the Civic, and she's scared of it. The light flywheels are a lot more streetable than people think. Either that's true, or everyone out there just really sucks at driving stick. I want a 5 pounder- that or the lowest mass flywheel I can get my hands on so that I can shift faster. It just has to be heavy enough to damp power pulses on the flywheel side of the crankshaft.

I see, makes sense. my fly is 9lbs it revs good. I'd like to
feel a 7lb
