I have a 92 honda LX. I just had a new head replaced with new head gasket of course. My Question is I get some smoke coming out of the exhaust sometimes when im hard on the pedal, but only when I release. Im not losing coolant. What do you think it may be? and is there anything I can buy at a store to stop it. thanks.

you could be burning oil, you could be getting oil past your piston rings into the combustion chamber.. and burning the oil. in addition it could be coming from the top of your motor past the valve seals and oil is getting in that way.
How are you on oil do you check it does it get low ? What color is the smoke? |

I havent checked it yet. it comes out white/blueish. Im wondering if its just the left over coolant from the new head put in.

Bluish/white smoke is oil burning. Since it happens when you let off the throttle, it sounds like valve seals to me.

I meant cylinder head. look I appreciate the help, but dont get all cocky about little things that people write. So you know alot about hondas..big deal! dont let it all go to your head..wait you have already.

jesus christ man if you want help dont ridicule the people on here. Did you get a brand new head or did you have yours rebuilt. whats probably happening is two things, either your piston rings are not seating like they should, which happens over time or your valve seals are letting oil past them. So if you got yours rebuilt, I would take it back and say its burning oil, if you got a brand new assembled head, i would replace your piston rings.
