No answers over at HS... and I'm being impatient.
Can anyone give me a detailed how to on how to hook up and oil pressure gauge? I got word that my (oil press/boost) gauges shipped, and I'd like to get the bezel installed and get the Oil Press gauge hooked up when it arrives. |

the gauge should come with a oil pressure sending unit. you will have to get some steel line and some fittings (non tapered) to replace your oil level sensor in teh back of your block (green push pin style sensor).
then the new line in the old sensors place (dont use teflon tape use some rtv sealant dont want bits of teflon in your oil) the new line will go to the oil pressure sending unit that you have to mount like on the firewall. then off of the sending unit you get with the gauge split the line and hook up the old sensor off of that. and plug in the harness for that. then you have to follow the directions to hook up power and the sensor line to the new oil pressure sending unit. |

ok this is what you need to do and a list of parts.
first like erice said take your stock op sending unit out from the back of the block, The hole in the block is a 1/8 BSPT fitting DO NOT try and put an NPT fitting in the bloc, the vibration of the motor will open the hole and wreck your threads.. So get a 1/8" BSPT to 1/8 NPT fitting. Then a 1/8 NPT to -3an. Run a -3 an line from the fitting on the block to your firewall. Then just get another -3an to 1/8 npt fitting and a "T" that has 3 female 1/8 npt holes in it. Plug the line into one, your stock unit in one side and the after market in another. Like eric said above DO NOT use teflon tape, what you want to do is put a nice bead of RTV on the male threads and then screw it into the female and wife away the extra rtv once it's tight. If you need help or pictures let me know as i have my setup sitting in the dining room because i just took it out while taking the motor out. |

If you have the time, I could always use pictures. The gauges showed up today, and all the fittings are jumbled together. Pictures of how to do it would help me along with the instructions I have.
