Valve Springs / Retainers

Well i got the block back from the shop tonight and damn it's nice. (i'll post pic's later)
Anyway i don't want to strap my head back on because it's drity as shit, And i don't want to risk the chance of dropping a valve into a block that i just spent 2300 building(lower end only). So sence i didn't plan on this what route should i go? It looks like crower will be the chapest. I can get dual springs with t_retainers for 340 shipped. Anyone think these will hold up? I know ther not Skunk2 but i really don't have that kinda cash, IT's going to cost me 250 in labor with a port, angle job ect,ect. Let me know ASAP i need to order by tomm AM.

what cams? that determines how beefy your springs need to be. usually it's easiest to use the same company for cams and valve springs, since that combination has surely been tested together.

For now i'm going to be using stock cams, But later next year i will be up grading but i'm not sure what yet, Looks like i'm going to have to go with crower because i just can't aford anythingmore.

upgrading to what?

if it's going to be a while, just keep your stock springs and retainers until you upgrade. or if you want some security, find someone selling ITR springs or CTR springs and retainers for cheap.

The crower will be fine for you, they will handle any cam made for the LS. BTW, you can't use skunk2, as they are for VTEC motors only...and that's the same reason he can't use the ITR/CTR springs suggested above. There aren't many options for the LS, but crower makes good springs/retainers. However, I'd wait until you're ready to get your cams, and then get your springs/retainers, and a nice port and polish. Since you're boosted, the P&P will help a ton. Since you're not getting cams for a while, you have no need for the springs...and the stock cams don't make power past around 6500 anyways.

Actually skunk2 does make a set of springs for the LS now (311-05-0370) but that doesn't matter . My valve seals in 2 & 3 are leaking so no matter what it needs to be tore down. It would be easier for me to do the work to the head now, because when i go to put the cams in i won't have to take the head off again. Plus that amount of carbon build up i just can't bring myself to put that dirty ass head on my new block I'm going to order the crower setup right now so that's settled. It'll just save money in the long run if i spend the extra cash now, because if i wait then, i'll have to buy new gaskets and shit again and i'm not doing it anymore just to much money and work. Keep an eye out for the pic post
