ok so lately it has beenr really cold up here in nj and ive come to notice that my "brake light" doesnt like to shut off. this only happens when its really cold, then the car warms up and i pump the brakes a bit, and the light shuts off. either way it shouldnt be on, and i would like to solve the problem. i wanted to see what u guys think, cuz i have some ideas, but if i can find out what it is before i go replacing stuff it would help a lot.

I would WD-40 the workings of the pedal. Sounds like it might not be fully releasing when it's cold out and then once used a bit it will be ok.

hope this may help...

this involves the emergency brake, or parking brake as some call it, it is cable driven and only operates the rear brakes, so no it has nothing to do with the pedal.

my thoughts are this, low brake fluid, extremly worn rear brakes, something wrong with the ebrake sensor, or the cable is frayed or there is something wrong with it.

Just check the brake switch under the center console, I hade my wireharness pop out of the plug before that it made my brake light stay solid.

also..check the fluid...mine stayed on for a very long time, but, figured, my brake fluid was kinda getting low

might not be the problem, but doesn't hurt to check the fluid level
