Where did I EVER say that the ericks racing car was boosted? You just said the honda ignitions crap out under high rpm...but they use stock ignition. It's obviously not mandatory, because I've seen it done. Another thing, where did I EVER say that it would be better to go with a stock ignition under boost, or that you wouldn't benefit from an aftermarket ignition? Nowhere, because I didn't say that. All I said was that OEM ignitions are good, which they are...and people use them in high power applications. Maybe nobody you know, but we all know that you and your friends know everything. |

No you said that it isnt mandatory to use an aftermarket ignition on a boosted motor, and your example was the ericks racing car. I didnt say that you said they were boosted...I was simply pointing out that that was an NA setup. I dont think any all motor setup would be considered high power so i dont know what your thinking. In boosted set ups the stock coil does not produce enough spark, therefore makes it unreliable for high boost, high hp motors...NOW i never brought the whole amount of hp thing in this thread. i simply recommended something to him from my knowledge and experience, you coming on here and saying that im full of shit and spouting that you know so and so with a 500hp motor thats on stock ignition...show me proof...The ericks racing car is lucky if it puts out 320. And at that its all motor. show me a boosted motor on stock ignition that puts out 500hp. i wanna see it. Oh and it has to be someone you know personally since we made it about that. I didnt come here and question you...you challenged me...And Another god damn thing...how do you know what i said wasnt true? I said i burned up stock coils...how the hell do you know how many coils the ericks racing car has been through? you dont...you guess that since hes on stock ignition that it must be the one that came with it? i highly doubt that...Never once did i say anything bad about oem ignition, i said it wouldnt work for me because of where i am...and you come on here all high and mighty saying you know shit that you dont. Yeah woop-tee-doo-da ericks racing uses stock ignition. Thats probably why his all motor chassis car hasnt broken outta the 10's yet.
p.s. Never said i know everything...but its completely obvious that i have a shit load more experience than you. you think simply because 1 10 sec car uses oem ignition that all high hp cars can run oem ignition. Well i got news for you, theres a reason people upgrade there ignition, and its not simply because they can. now as for my motor set up: JG Sleeved 82mm jdm GSR block CP pistons Crower Rods Fully ported head Rocket motorsports springs and retainers Rocket motorsports cams Manley Valves Edelbrock Victor x Intake manifold GE Fuel Rail RC 1000cc injectors MSD 6AL Ignition box with Blaster 2 coil One-Fab Top mount Manifold Precision PT-67 turbo Custom 2 1/2" IC piping, made in house Custom 4" downpipe made in house |

LOL, ok buddy, whatever you say. I never challenged you, I was just stating that you don't HAVE to get an aftermarket ignition. I never once said anyone who is making lots of HP wouldn't be better off using it, just that people HAVE used the stock ignition. I used the Erick's racing car as an example, because you said boost and high rpm...well, they're high rpm..if you read my post more carefully, you'll notice that I stated "as for high rpm." I never once said that everyone should run OEM ignition, or everyone does...can you point that out for me? All I said was that I know people doing it, and have seen it at the track, and it's possible. Get it? I never said that aftermarket is bad, I never said they didnt go through ignition parts, because honestly, I don't know if they do, or how often. I never said that what you've seen isn't true, however I don't know how you can say what I've seen isn't true? I've seen it firsthand, just like you've seen your stuff. Just because you haven't seen it, doesn't mean it hasn't been done before. I really don't see how you read all that stuff in between the lines of my posts...they're pretty clear in black and white.
