I have a problem starting my car. This started happening about a month ago. SOmetimes when its cold and I try to start it, I turn the key and it will click, and then i do it again, and it starts. In the past 2 days, I have tried starting the car and it will just click, so i tried it a few more times and it clicked, and then a lil bit later, the car actually started. I dont know if it has anything to do with the battery. I have a Alarm Siren hooked up and i dunno if that has anything to do with it. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

1st off - it kinda sounds like a juice problem. Throw a tester on your battery and make sure that's fully charged.
2nd - does it do this every time you start the car? Or just on the 1st start after it's been sitting?
If it starts up right away durring every day driving (on /off) then I'd say there may be a draw in the system or maybe a bad altenator. <--- just a guess
Make sure that everything aftermarket (the alarm etc.) has been wired correctly /grounded properly to ensure that there is nothing shorting/drawing power.
3rd - well . . . I'll get to that when you offer a bit more info.
Good luck for now.

Sam -

Is the car a manual or auto? If it's manual then the clutch relay could be going bad, it happens frequently on all cars. Also check all the connections on the starter, if all of the connections are good then I would definately take the starter off and take it to the nearest Advanced Auto/Pep Boys/Autozone or whatever they call it where you are and have them check it on their machine. My guess is the starter is going bad. If it was an excessive drain or lack of voltage to the starter you would have to jump it to get it going if it sat for a long period.
