I was taking a 4 hour road trip to TN this weekend, after driving about 2 hours i noticed the speed gage going from 80mph *the speed at which i was driving* down to 40mph then jump back up to 80. When it did this, i noticed the lights dim a tad.

About 10min later it did this again, then it started to like die and start and die and start then just die.. all with in like 5sec, then it just died.... i was gonig 80pmh all i could do is just put the clutch in and turn it back on, and then it did not do it again for about another hour or so, then it did the samething again.

However on the way home this weekend it did not do it at all. Any Ideas what it is? or what could be doing this?

this is a 98 civic DX 4dr

any help or ideas or something for me to check is great! Thanks

-Stephen

i had something similar happen to me one time on the way from the track. It turned out to me a loose connection on one of the battery terminals.

Check all your grounds, check the connections going into the gauge cluster, check around your ECU to make sure no water or anything weird got in.
