okay ive got a shitload of parts on the way and what i aim to do is a full mini-me swap using a y7 block and a z6 head, using a y8 intake mani, and a stage 1 compcams camshaft. my main questions are: what throttle body do i need to buy? what type of ecu do i need being as i was non-vtec automatic?(btw i have a MSD window switch on the way to control when vtec kicks in) will the fuel rail and injectors from a y7 work on a y8 intake manifold?

Obviously you're going to need to use the VTEC ecu. I think the throttle bodies are the same. Window switch for vtec? Ghetto rig. Do it right once and never have to fix it again.

go by the harness thats in the car. if the car is obd1...you use a p28 if the car is obd2 you use a p2t ecu. I dont recommend using a window switch to control vtec...It crosses over vtec but not ignition and fuel maps, so your going to be running the wrong amount of timing and the wrong fuel. If you put in the vtec ecu, wire it properly and use the ecu for what it is.
You can use any throttle body you want...ex, si, gsr ls h22, it doesnt matter they will all fit on the y8 manifold. As for the injectors and fuel rail, use the ones from the y8 manifold. |

I'm doing the same thing, but with a d15b7block and a y8 head I have just the y8 head. Will the b7 intake manifold work with the y8 head and also can I use a p28
