Ok so your saying keep the one i have but gut it? If so how do i gut it? Can i do it myself? And with it gutted will it pass a smog test when its due (months from now)?

no it will probably not pass smog...im not sure of the laws in your state, but i know in a lot of them you cannot mess with a perfectly good cat, nor replace it unless it needs to be replaced. not really worth the extra money, just stick with the stock one, or replace it if need be with a stock one.
