its really not a matter of how fast i want to run,but how fast i need to run. our import class is brand new so there are only two classes all motor and power adder.

the all motor is for both 4 and 6 cly. this dude with 3.5 l altima dominates and he runs mid 9's(1/8 times) so i need to be mid to low 9's just to be competative.

to be competative in power adder i need to run low 8's unless the turboed vr6 p/u is there then i would have to run low 7's. so over the winter i have alot of work to do.

i didn't know there was a DOHC d16 either but in the tech faq's here there is a section on d series motors and the d16a8/9 is a DOHC non vtec that came in late 80's-early 90's crxs and teggys

i detonated and bent a rod and the rocker shaft. so i had srp pistons, rods, and rings. the block was decked and clearenced for the 10:1 compression. then the head was trued to the block. the block was damaged when the rod kept hitting the block but i think that was fixed when the block was clearenced. then the clutch was replaced with a centerforce DF. the parts were only about $1000 but the mill work and labor killed me. i think i should have replaced the crank but i was low on money.
I'll add something to this comment too.

My friend Corey just had a swap done to his 93 HB. He took out the d15 and had a d16 slammed in . . .
The D . . . a [/b]DOHC[/b] setup indeed! I couldn't believe it!

Aparently, in the early 90's Japan unleashed a few HBs with these engines in them as "Aniversery Editions"
On the rear quarter of the cars, it even said that! Do some reserch on it . . You'll see that they are out there . . they are just very tricky to aquire.

Later.

yall are crazy, i havent seen a single DOHC d series engine in a civic from japan. the only d series engines that japan ever had were in late 80's integras and they maxed out at 118 hp. the 89-92 crx's in japan had a zc series engine and preludes either have a an h, f or a b seires from any country.

if you want to know, i can tell you pretty much any engine type in any civic/rex/lude/accord/teg from usa europe japan or from 86 - 00.

if they did do special editions, thats not on anything i have looked up....

The zc is actually a d-series and will bolt up to any d series block, If you have the bottom end built nice and want to gas this engine then a dohc would be a descent upgrade.P&P the head and maybe get some reground cams for it and you should have a peppy engine. As far a nitrous goes, be careful d-series engines love to spin bearings for someone who loves the spray. I prefer the b-series but if you want a zc head hit me up I have like 3.
