This question relates to the new hybrid crx that I'm getting.

The engine is a jdm b16. It is currently turbo'd at a break in 9psi.
After the break in, I'll be jumping to 13psi and no more. (semi daily driver)

I talked to the man who did all of the work and he just informed me that I will need to do something to make the car run properly and it involves either a vtec controller? or a stand alone fuel management system . . . Eh?!?!?

Here's the deal. He yanked the usdm si engine and swapped in a jdmb16a. He DID wire the vtec wire/cylinoid so everything worked as it should.
Now that he has added the turbo setup, he told me that I'd need a way to add fuel to the motor once the turbo spool'd up and began forcing more air.

I understand that when the trubo kicks up the airflow to the engine, I it obviously need a way to send more fuel as well . . . I just need to know the most simple and effective way to do this.
I need to have this problem solved in the next few weeks so any advise is appreciated.

I don't want to spend a ton of money to do this either. I just want to get all the necessary components hooked up to get it running the way it should.

Thanks!!!

Well i am also somewhat of a noob myslef, but as far as turbo hondas go, if they arent done and tuned right, you can end up with a headache or a blown engine.
What I would do is find someone locally or online that has the almost same setup and ask him how he did it.

As far as the standalone fuel management, this where your pockets can get heavy. A standalone (a good one) can range anywhere from 800-1500 dollars. I know a couple good ones are moTeC, Greddy E-Manage, and AEM EMS. Now, if you decided you wanna get a VAFC and SAFC, you could go that route but it only limits you so much since those are piggy back controls, stand alones are the things you see people tuning thier cars with laptops and what not, the whole deal.

Your also going to need a missing link, what it does it tells the MAP sensor not to read boost, or the map sensor goes crazy.

But like i said im still a NoOb coming to turbos, so ask someone who is knowledgeable in hondas and turbos

Well if you dont want to spend too much money..
do some simple things..
clean the fuel system with one of them fuel add-ons, change the fuel filter (try getting an aftermarket one), if you can get some cash... an aftermarket electric fuel pump can be helpful and a FPR would not hurt either.
The FPR is a must.

an aftermarket fuel pump and cleaning the fuel system may help a little, but his main concern is fuel management, and he will only get that with a Standalone or a major piggyback.

Yes, a fuel pump is definately needed, also what injectors are you using? A good injector upgrade that is cheep is the DSM route, just use DSM injectors. As far as management goes i would highly recommend hondata.. check out there site http://www.hondata.com it is VERY informative.

you could also go with hondata, I've heard the newest sytems aren't quite as expensive as the old hondatas. I believe the new system with boost option is still under $500.

only problem with hondata, which i find the most unapealing is that you have to have a custom chip programed each time you want to make ANY change.. that sucks

I agree that it's a pain, but you can also buy this program to do this yourself along with the Hondata, it's one of the extra options they offer.
