so after finding out labor for a head swap is only $400, i'm favoring the head swap over turbo. (hopefully both in the future
) my question is.. which head would perform better with the b20? i've read a lot but i'm still not sure which is better. is the JDM b16 head any different from the USDM head? also..what kind of internal mods would you do to the head? i was talking with phil and he recemmended valve springs to help raise the redline. i don't have that much to spend..hopefully $1k or less on everything. thanks

B16 heads usually go for less if you go with an older b16 sir1 head, but if you compare the two from the same year (ie. 1999 gsr head vs. 1999 si head) they are about the same. The b16 has a better flowing stock intake over the dual runner b18c head, but the b18 has a slightly smaller combustion chamber which raises the compression a hair. The flow of the two heads themselves is really similar and isn't much of a deciding factor. All and all just get the one that seems to be the best one for the money.

If you go with an older b16 head, you'll need to rebuild it.
