I drive an automatic transmission civic. I'm looking to eventually either swap to manual, or go for a full swap. I'm asking how to wire/hose up the hydrolic clutches. I seriously have no idea. I searched around online but couldn't turn much up. Thanks

You need the pedal assembly and resevoir from a manual transmission having civic. You will also either need the lines from the master cylinder to the slave cylinder or you can just have a braided line made to length with the right ends. Another thing that may need done is a different transmission mount because the saddle on manual tranny cars is a little different than the automatic ones.

If your car isnt heavily modifyed and you can part with it. I would recomend buying a manual one instead. A lot of people dont understand how much work is involved in doing this. Many dont have the skills or the tools to even start the process. So Im just saying that if you arent a skillfull enough fabricator and understand the basics of the conversion, you might not want to attempt it.

Thanks much for the responses..I'm just wondering. I can't really part with the car without losing a whole ton of money. I mean I'd lose a lot. I still owe 4900 and I'm going to go send in 170 today. The car's trade in value is only like 8900. And I paid 12,100 but I financed, so it ended up being 13,550 after taxes and what not. Plus I don't want a new car. I really like the one I have, just not the transmission.

Labor for that swap would be $1250 because on that model car you have to change the intake manifold because the IACV is different between the manual and automatic. The parts you need would be a 5 spd transmission, shift linkage, mounts, IACV and intake manifold. If you have anymore questions please give us a call at the shop.

That's what one shop quoted me..Seemed a little expensive and other places have given relative quotes that were much cheaper. Meaning "it should run around 600-800 in labor."

Take it from someone who's tried it, you definately need another tranny mount. And it's 1 7/8" difference front to rear, I had my Hasport mount cut and rewelded.

Aren't the ECUs different as well? I heard that if you do the swap, you've got to change that out too?!?

Either I'm right or wasn't paying attention durring that conversation!
