ok, on the reciept it says i paid for a 2nd gen. B16A. which should be 4G '90-'91 Civic SiR Japan EF B16A1 1595 10.4:1 168hp@7800RPM/111lb-ft@7000. according to the specs on this site.. but, how do i know just by looking at the engine?
now there i know its a B16A1. but the year/generation? and how do i know that it is a JDM engine like they tell me?thank you guys, i could get some cash back here if they did something wrong... that would be money towards boost!

This will help you...
Take a picture of your cylinder head...if you look right above your engine code, there will be some numbers printed on the head, take a picture of that and i will be able to determine your engine type |

the one on the far left is a 9l1.. somebody said that is what the year looked like.. and none of the others could be the year... would that make the engine a 91?

The date stamp is when it was cast, not built. My guess is you got yourself a SIR II from a 92-93 Integra XSi |

Yeah dood you have a 92 motor...
Your b16a either came out of a teg or a ferio, what most b16s come out of.... You should be happy you got one, number one, odb1 is alot better than odb2, it likes mods better and the ECU's are reprogamable. So look on the right side, if you look where your ecu is, you should see a conversion harness thats the only way to hook up a odb1 motor to a odb2 car. Im thinking you might be running the wrong ECU, sounds like your motor isnt going at full potential, mine redlines at 8,400 at all gears.... oh and i had my motor dynoed, with just a Pepboys intake and exhaust i put down 142hp to the ground... |
