I think i may have just bought a 99ls swap. What mounts am i goingto need and what current mounts can i still use. Are there any special tools i'm going to need to do the swap. I have a engine lift and all the basic tools, I've never done a swap before so i'm going to try and do this solo, with the help of a few friends but non of them are that inclined either. This should be a basic take out and put in job right. I'm going to switch the ECU also to make it easier so i don't have to do alot of wiring ( funny because the wiring is the only thing that i feel really confertable doing)

you'll need del sol mounts i believe.. mike take my word for it.. if i could onlyl find the pictures of what my stock mounts looked like.. i know it sucks balls but invest in some poly mounts.. (or use that diy we have for filling yoru stock ones with poly) i have a passenger side for a 5th gen from place racing (i love my PR mounts holding up very nice) you can use a normal socket set to get them on and off.. just get a jack with a wood block under the oil pan and jack up the motor on each side when you change out the mount..

if you want we can meet up and i can help do the swap.. i've been itching to get on antother one lately

Dude if you want to help i'm all for it. I'll meet you half way then you can follow me back to my crib, I hook you up for the lenth of the stay, you can sleep at my apartment, I'll provide all the food and beer and entertainment we need. It'll be like a mini meet before the real thing, then i can at the real meet.

Well i have two days before i know for a fact that i have the swap. I have bunch of question about the ECU and stuff. And i read something on honda swap about engine removal. I don't really have to take the brake booster out do i. Looks like the engine will lift out without it hitting. So you think i should by new mounts? I've been wnting to do the swap for so long and i was just about to blow $700 on my new suspension and i figured why the hell not just buy a swap instead. and let my blow suspension rideout for another year.

yeah dude im down.. you have an engine lift? I have all the tools we'll need the res. wont get in the way i think you'll need a obd2 pig tail to work with your current wiring unless you're getting the full harness (much eaiser) you can probably find them on line cheaps as hell i've seen obd 2 99-00 SI full uncut harness for ike 80 bucks so im sure the LS will be less

Dude,
the motor i'm wanting to get is in maine and shipping was goingto be $400. My boss just came ot me and asked if i would like to fly to maine and then drive a uhaul back and hit all my stores between maine and vigina so looks like i can just pick the motor up then i'm there. The wire harness is cut. As fot the lift i personally dont' have one but i'll rent or buyone for the project thats no problem.

awesome when you trying to do it (put a whole weekend aside.. from friday night till sunday afternoon) hopefully it wont take that long but putting the motor in is the easy part.. working out the bugs normally takes a whole day and a half.. we'll have the motor in on friday hooked up mid day sat and hopefully running

now im pumped lol when we doing this?
