i've narrowed it down between these two engines. whichever i get will eventually be boosted.

i can get a full (complete engine, tranny, ecu, lsd, axles, and shift linkage) jdm b18c1 obd2 swap from totaljdm.com for just under $4,000 including shipping.
or
i can get a b18b1 obd1 engine (i can't find this full swap anywhere) for around $1,000 shipped. then i'd have to find a tranny and ecu somewhere.

question: if i go with the gsr will it be worth the extra $400 for the lsd?

ok let me hear opinions. if you'd like to suggest another route then go for it. i still have a while before i'm going to do this...i'm just brainstorming.

ps i found the gsr swap on japanstarmotor.com for only $3,200 with free shipping but i've never heard anything about this site.

B20Z with an ITR LSD tranny. You'll love the torque.

japan star has a 60% ratio of pissing off their customers with shitty products. take my word for it or not japanstar is known to email and threaten other suppliers.

out of the options i'd go LS on boost before i did a gsr on boost

i say ls on boost over a gsr on boost.

other ideas i have are like the others said b20 with the itr trans, or maybe an ctr swap and go n/a.

a b20z definitely sounds nice, but the only thing about that is i've never seen a site that sells complete b20 swaps. i know it'd be easy to get the b20 longblock and then a tranny, but i don't know enough about it to know what all other parts i'd need. and i'm not getting all the parts from the shop b/c i know that'll be way more expensive then i could find them online.

edit: someone look at this engine and tell me if this is the b20b or b20z.

That's because the B20 mostly came as an automatic or AWD in the CRV...so you have to pick a B series tranny to mate with it. The link you posted is for a 97-98 B20B, the lower compression and lower HP model. You want the 99-01 B20Z or JDM B20B...higher compression, 20 more hp.

ok i found the entire ls swap for $2,200.

if i wanted to go w/ the b20, first of all i can't seem to find the b20z anywhere. every b20 for sale i see is the b20b. second what all besides the engine and a B series tranny would i need? what kinda shift linkage, ecu, axles, etc. would i need?
