I have a 92 hatch with a 96 teg front end conversion. Motor in it right now is the "mini-me" swap d15 w/16 vtec head. Obviously way to high compersion for a turbo kit. My ? is should i go with a d16 with turbo or just do it all and go for a b16 or b18 natural?

Dude here is my suggestion, if I were you, I would get a fat ass can of gasoline, like about five gallons. Pour all the gas on the seats and floor board and just drench the car. Then get a zippo lighter, light that bitch and throw it in the car from about 20 feet away, that'll be a cool ass show.

HAHA just kidding, this guy is my best friend. Jason you know what I think you should do. But what do I know.

a mini-me swap shouldn't be too high of a compression ratio to turbo.

That's what I was thinking. I've seen 11:1 compression motors be boosted just fine. It's all in the tuning. If your going to boost a b series don't waste your time on a b16. Atleast to a 18b because of torque differences. They really become apparent in boosted applications.

nah not too high but you might not get the output you'd like.. if money isn't an issue b20z turbo.. if it is.. just turbo that car then start saving for when it blows up

How far along could a D16 make it with a T3 turbo anyways? At a low psi of course..

eh, not something I would do. But now that I practically have a brand new motor once my car is out of the shop Im keeping an open mind with the D16, might try to give her a few more balls. I dont know yet.

He doesn't have much to work with, but we found a D16 complete engine with really low miles for 600, and it'll drop right in, nothing else to do. Everything in the hatch is already out of a 95 SI so I having him lean towards the sohc motor. Plus he doesn't want it down, he wants to drive it and what is faster than just throwing in the SI motor.
