hey, this is my 1st posting so bare with me. i'm planning on putting a b18c5 engine into my 97 civic ex and i was wondering if i had to do anything with the cat converter and the exhaust or if the new headers will bolt right up with the orginal cat and exhaust in place. please get back to me so i can figure out what all i need to get before i start this project and run into any problems.

You may need to have an inch or two added or cut out of your piping. Other then that everything should line right up.

wellcome to the site duncan, glad you have high expectations.

this is pretty much the same swap as mine with minor differences but i can help you just the same.

The HEADER (no s 4 cyc only have one header) there is an end point on the header called the "flange" it's where the tubing meets the exhaust tubing and where the bolts join up.

You WILL need to cut the flange off and rotate it to match your current exhuast setup. Any shop can do this for about 20 bucks. You wont need to extend the piping any. Also you might want to look into a more open exhaust this includes the cat. You can get a "catco" cat off ebay for 30 bucks or so.. i think thats what i paid for mine. But when you do you need to remember you have to buy two new flanges and a 02 sensor bung (where the o2 sensor screws into the cat)

Like Smooth said you will also need to extend it. I've seen some people make a small extention with the flanges offset so that you don't have to cut your exaust piping.

not trying to be a dick, but again you dont need any extention of your exhaust. I have the same exact swap. He doesnt need to extend. all that will be needed is cutting and rotating the flange. The itr manifold is longer than most other b series. Please dont give this guy the wrong information if you dont know.

No no that's my fault I didn't notice the c5. I was assuming he was going with the c1.

I have a Jdm b18c (gsr) in my car and i did not have to extend anything.
The flang didn't line up right at the header. I dont know if the Tsudo
one is the same as the stock. ( The flange)
