So I finally got off my ass and went and got my gsr motor from my buddies house. It is currently housed in my father's warehouse, this is were it's all gonna go down. It's going into my 94 automatic hatch(i know). I have access to another car so it's no problem to have my car off the road for awhile. Right now i'm trying to gather all the parts i need to do the swap, that's my number one priority. Please feel free to add to my list.

1. 1997 gsr motor and trans
2. hasport auto to manual conversion mount
3. Header and cat
4. ecu(p28 chipped to type r specs?) i have a skunk 2 intake manifold(knock off type r?)
5. axels (any b series will work correct?)
6. Rear mount
7. CAI
8. Manual gauge cluster
9. Shift linkage
10. Pedal assemblies, all lines, ect.... pulled it all off my 94 cx
11. vtec conversion harness

Also should I use my stock radiator, if so what radiator hoses do I use. Last b series we did, we custom mounted the integra radiator(i had the whole car)
Remember all i have right now is the motor, trans and everything I pulled off my old car to do the conversion. So basically i need everything on the list except #1 and#10. We did the timing belt, water pump, arp studs and lightened flywheel already on the motor and trans so it's ready to go in when I get all these parts together. I think i can get a unchipped p28 for $60, if thats what I should use, where should I get it chipped. thanks for the help in advance. Remember i'm not a mechanic, but I have been working on my own cars for quite a while, my brother just graduated from UTI and we have done several swaps together, never did an auto to manual conversion though, wish us luck! Our goal for right now is to get the car running with a clean na swap, boost may be a possibility later down the road.

8. you don't need a manual cluster, black paint or tape over the auto symbols works just fine, and will save you a few bucks(unless you want a stock tach)
10. don't forget the shifter!
11. Just run the couple of wires needed, saves a few more bucks for....
12. FLUIDS! FLUIDS! FLUIDS!

So you think the chipped P28 is the best bet, who should I have do it. Also, the motor has been out of the car for about 1 1/2 years, is there any special precaution I should take when starting it for the first time.

My roommate is a mechanic he suggested a squirt of automatic trans fluid through the valve cover into each cylinder to lubricate it and remove any surface rust or junk that may be on the walls, not much just a little. what do you think?

p72 is what you need for an ecu. chipped p28 isnt bad, but the p72 is what is stock. BTW, you still want my Apexi World Sport. If you have to wait till your swap is done thats cool.

If you have the skunk 2 mani then you might as well go with the p28 ecu. Your car is an obd 1 so it should plug right in to the ecu. You'll need to get it chipped though.
If you can get that ecu for 60 dollars that's a steal so dont pass it up.

As for the harness, Do you not have the engine harness off the gsr?

Just use a Short ram intake or shell out the dough for a AEM hybrid or get a custom made one locally.

What about motor mounts?
