Fucked Up Oil Pan = A Dead Motor?

Aight as you guys know I've been trying to get this 97 USDM GSR motor that Tonyroll sold me a couple months ago running and I've been unsuccessful for the most part. Yesterday come to find out from the local performance shop that took over that the oil pan was extremely dented in all the way across from one side to the other, possibly an inch+ deep..

why i dunno, maybe the shippers, or the long distance caused this to happen.

But my question is does this sound like the problem ( in the sense) that it froze up the crankshaft? or possibly damaged it? or even the oil pump that sends oil into the head area possibly? They havent removed it yet to check on it and im getting nervous.

and another question I have, Hella water came out before the oil did when it was drained.. Would the milky effect of a blown headgasket separate the oil from the water after a while? Im hoping its just condensation..

The thing is.. the guy who did the work on my car put the timing belt on all fucked up and I dunno if something went wrong when they tryed to crank it because it still wouldnt turn over.

One inch isn't a deep dent in an oil pan. Just take the pan off and look, worst case you bent the oil pick up, but i highly doubt you did anything to the crank or anything else in the block.

ok im just trying to narrow down these possibilites. After talking to brett, if it wasnt this it was between the timing and a couple of other things.

come to find out that the oil pick up was completely crushed, and the crank isnt moving which means something inside the tranny would have to be jammed, other than there just being rust.. Which i dont think there is since it was moving only a few weeks ago. Apparently theres alot of water still inside the motor so im pulling for the headgasket not to be blown.

Im gonna go and take flics tomorrow @ the shop to give everyone a better Idea.

If the oil pickup was completely crushed, then your engine wasn't moving any oil- so it was running dry or very close to it. That causes all kinds of problems.

yeah like being blown.. The fuckin thing had 50% water down in the pan after being drained. The oil pan itself was coated in rust, and the oil pick up was completely bent. Plus there was no oil in the head so your basicly right.

Right now I either have to find myself a GSR block which is highly unlikely, or find myself a LS block and go LSvtec. The block i have now is garbage, theres no way I could afford the rebuild on it. It was all taken apart and I could see all this. Whats your 02. on a cost efficient route to go?

I have a bare GSR Block w/ GE Sleeves 83 MM now. It needs some work on water passage. Local place said shouldn't be a problem fixing. I never got around to having it done sense I outa B-series game.
I take $700 plus shipping. PM me if like info on it

Right on, but no offense.. I gotta see what im purchasing this time around. I'm gonna go local, but thanks though.

I'm actually going LSVtec since the head looks ok and I dont think theres any bent valves. Hopefully I can pick up a decent longblock. My installer has previous experience with the swap so I can be restassured its being done right.
